Anchovy Scientific evaluation for determine catch quota for the second season
The Ministry of Production, Produce, has been planning the start of the Second Anchovy Fishing Season-2020 in the North Central region, and for this, the Institute of the Sea of Peru, Imarpe, Specialized Technical Agency, in charge of preparing the Table of Final Decision, has launched, the 2020-II Anchovy Evaluation Process; which was divided into three phases: i) Anchovy Spawning Biomass Estimation Cruise with the Daily Egg Production Method, ii) Hydroacoustic Evaluation of Pelagic Resources Cruise; and iii) Cabinet Analysis.
Through this process, and in accordance with the observations of the variability of the climatic conditions and the response of the Anchovy, it will be decided according to the current Protocol, the application of the analytical method of Population Balance or the result of the Hydroacoustic Evaluation Cruise of Pelagic Resources, for the determination of the Final Decision Table of the catch quota towards the end of October 2020.
