PIURA – Beached Whale meat cut in the port of Paita

A whale about 15 meters long and weighing 12 tons stranded in the ExEnapu dock in the port of Paita (Piura region).

Locals and fishermen in the area took advantage of the situation and rushed with knife in hand and bags to cut and procure meat.

Other residents expressed their discomfort and demanding to punish the ship struck the whale.

It was learned that a foreign vessel of Line Conti Arabella, carrying refrigerated containers have dragged the whale to the coast.

So instead arrived representatives of the Port Authority, National Police, the local municipality, Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Health, who collected samples for investigations.
