Ghezzi Minister inspects work progress Landing Fishing in Paita

The Minister of Production, Piero Ghezzi, reported in December that the works of improvement and adaptation to current health standard of Artisanal Fishing Landing in Paita, Piura, which will benefit 1,080 fisherfolk will be completed.

The head of the Ministry of Production (Produce) noted that the investment amount is nine million soles 863,110.81 and includes improving breakwater and marginal wharf, and the expansion and upgrading of the infrastructure on the ground.

In addition, the installation of two producers of ice and a holding room, sanitary and electrical installations, equipment for unloading and primary processing, outfall, among others.
The Minister indicated that the work currently has an advance of more than 65 percent.

This year has been underway to build three new artisanal fishery landings and seven modernizing, adapting to the health standard.

It is the construction of Artisanal Fishing Port Bahia Blanca – Callao, Puerto Morin (La Libertad and San Jose) and Puerto Lambayeque.

In addition, modernization of artisanal fisheries landing Chimu and Chimbote in Ancash, Mancora in Piura and Paita, Faro Matarani in Arequipa, Moquegua and Ilo in Morro Sama in Tacna.

The goal of these projects is to reverse the inadequate conditions for landing, handling and preservation of aquatic resources, providing a modern and according to the demands of domestic and international markets following the sanitary standards artisanal fisheries infrastructure.

This will allow aquatic resources for direct human consumption meet the standards of quality, best hygiene, health and safety.
