President Ollanta Humala has signed today a Supreme Decree establishing the Charter Limit Foreign sur- a sector of the maritime domain of Peru. This letter reflects that established the International Court of Justice based in The Hague on 27 January this year.
“This letter also states clearly and explicitly that the start of the border between Peru and Chile is the Concord Point, no other”Said the President at the ceremony held at the Hall of Cáceres Government Palace.
“This is a job we have to thank the technical staff, cartographers, the staff of the Navy of Peru, the staff of the Foreign Ministry, and the rapport we have been arguing for this Joint Binational Commission has rapidly succeeded in determining coordinates that today allow closing the southern border with Chile”, He said.
The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Minister Gonzalo Gutierrez, Pedro Cateriano Defense and General Commander of the Navy, Carlos Tejada.
