A total of 500,000 post-larvae (baby fish 8 days old) species Paco and Gamitana transferred the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP) to 20 municipalities located in the geographical area of the Valley of the Apurimac River, Jan and Mantaro (Vraem).
This transfer of baby Gamitana Paco and is part of an interagency agreement signed by the IIAP with said municipalities and responds to ministerial agreements to promote development in the localities in Vraem.
Recently the Festival and Paco Gamitana was conducted in the District of Black River, in the Province of Satipo, in Junín region; organized by the City of Black River, where the IIAP takes delivery of postlarvae about 20 municipalities Vraem.
The IIAP said that with proper management by technicians after 30 days of post-larvae become Fingerlings and begin their growth, so that after a few months they can be marketed and intended for direct human consumption, contributing to the revitalization economy and food security.
The fair included 13 population centers, 4 of whom were indigenous Ashaninka and 8 mestizos, with the assistance of the Aquaculture Association of Black River district of Vraem formed by 180 producers. In total about 7,000 people attended the area.
Representatives of municipalities benefited with postlarvae, appreciated the participation of the IIAP in this activity, further wherein the Championship Cup Intercultural Paco, display dishes, ceviche contest, exhibition of larger paco, fishing was conducted , selling fresh fish and parade partners.
Finally, the IIAP reported that the investigations conducted to validate the new technologies of cultivation of Amazonian species, and the assimilation of these technologies by farmers directly benefited.
