Produce invests over S /. 1 million to boost Aquaculture and Caficultura

The Ministry of Production (Produce) reported that so far in 2014 allocated 154.136 million soles for training and lending to boost aquaculture development and improve coffee production in the Valley of the Apurimac rivers, Ene and Mantaro (VRAEM).

He added that so far this year, Produce through the National Fisheries Development Fund (FONDEPES) gave 32 credits to farmers at preferential rates by an amount equivalent to 308.988 soles.

This funding will enable the acquisition of 78,020 kilos of fattening food for trout and various Amazonian fish. These actions are performed in the framework of the Multisectoral Central Government Intervention in the VRAEM.

He recalled that in 2013 41 credits for a total of 341.327 soles for the acquisition of 83.535 kilograms of balanced food for the Provinces of Huanta (Distrritos Sivia, Huanta and Llochegua) were granted, and La Mar (Distrritos Ayna and San Miguel ) in the Ayacucho region.

Similarly, fishermen Province Convention (Distrritos Pichari and Kimbiri) in Cuzco region benefited; and the Province of Satipo (Distrrito of Pango) in the Junin region.
The Head of Fondepes, Sergio González, said that 63 percent of the loans made were canceled before the expiration date.

He noted that from 2013 to date, the Fondepes trained 982 people VRAEM, in growing Truchas and Amazonian fish. 514 technical assistance were also held internships and techniques to farmers in that part of the country, in the Aquaculture Center Nuevo Horizonte (Loreto region), and the Fishing Station "El Ingenio" (Junín Region).
On the other hand, Produce technical training conducted 3,200 VRAEM coffee producers belonging to the Provinces of Huanta and La Mar (Ayacucho), the Convention (Cusco) and Satipo (Junín); with an investment equivalent to 845.148.

In this way, they improve their technical capabilities of post harvest quality control and knowledge about storage and marketing, covering their need the coffee associations and independent farmers who needed specialized to reassess the coffee production chain assistance.
This training was implemented by the Directorate General of Technological Innovation and Business Services (DIGITSE) Produce and was conducted during the first half of 2014 was in charge of 24 experts in agronomy, crop management, quality control and commercial joint.
