The Deputy Chairman of the Defense of Artisanal Fisheries (Condepp), Nelson Estrada, praised the government has decided to bring forward the closure of the Sardine and Anchovy in the Biobío Region, as a way of ensuring fisheries sustainability.
"We value the wisdom of the executive decree last season on the Sardine and Anchovy to maintain the sustainability of the resource, so I did see the Undersecretary of Fisheries. The social and economic crisis that had stopped lessons last year that the Government must not forget, "Estrada said.
The leader said that "the Government has unfinished tasks and no longer provide for more; review the fisheries law and advance the term trawling, are measures to be taken and stop making excuses, "he said Estrada.
The measure will take effect from Thursday July 24 at 00:01 pm, between the regions of Valparaiso and Los Rios, and will run until 21 October.
