The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) set catch limits of resources mackerel (96,000 tons) and mackerel (44,000 tonnes), applicable to mining activities conducted by all kinds of fleet until December 31, 2015 by a decision published today.
The precise rule that once reached the catch limit for each resource, PRODUCE shall terminate extractive activities, otherwise they will end on December 31, 2015.
It also indicates that the Instituto del Mar del Peru (IMARPE) perform monitoring and monitoring provisions, and must report to the Directorate General of Fisheries Development Policy and the results of that work.
The IMARPE also recommend timely completion of mining activity of those resources in the event that catch limits are reached, and the adoption of measures relevant fisheries management.
Similarly, states that the shipowners or fishing companies engaged in mining activity mackerel and mackerel should provide the facilities necessary for the operations of scientific research staff or inspectors IMARPE PRODUCE.
