Peru study “appropriate action” responding to Chile protest note

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru, Gonzalo Gutiérrez said that Peru has been studying the protest note sent by Chile regarding the land border of the two countries and after that see what the measures are appropriate to answer.

After the publication of his new Peru maritime boundary under the mandate of the Court in The Hague, the government of Chile expressed its disagreement with the Peruvian boundary, believing that the land boundary beyond which indicates failure.
Despite this discrepancy, Gutierrez tried to put cold cloths to the issue and stated that a difference of opinion does not determine bilateral issues with both countries.
"This may represent a difference of opinion between the parties, does not condition the entire universe of international issues with the two countries', Said the Minister.
Moreover, in the framework of the COP20, said that this difference is not against the fight that both countries on climate change, as it is integrated throughout Latin America, regardless of the views of vocation that can take border issues order.
