Ministry of Production 2014 trained more than 5,000 artisanal fishermen

The Minister of Production, Piero Ghezzi, said today that in 2014 is projected to train over five thousand fisherfolk nationwide through the National Fisheries Development Fund (Fondepes).

The Head of the Ministry of Production (Produce) noted that the objective of such training is to contribute, first, to the formalization of the fishermen.

It also points to the productive capacity in order to facilitate access to credit, business development initiatives, employment opportunities and consequently income generation to contribute to the improvement of their living conditions.

Ghezzi visited the Fisheries Training Center Paita, where he was greeted by hundreds of students in the courses "Marine Engines and Used Fishing" and "Fishing Training Skilled Sailor."

Accompanying the Minister on this visit Ghezzi President Chief Fondepes, Sergio González, General Director of fisheries policies, Patricia Carreño, and the general manager (e) extraction and fisheries production for direct human consumption, Luis Fernando.

So also the CEO of supervision and control, Juan Carlos Requejo, Director of Aquaculture, Fabrizio Flores, the director of fisheries management, Omar Rios, and Executive Director of Sanipes, Diana Garcia.
