Harvest Trout grew about 10% year over past 14 years

The harvest of trout in Peru grew about 10 percent per year in last 14 years, the Ministry of Production (Produce).

According to statistics from the Regional Production (Direpro) and Aquaculture Enterprise, trout harvest reached 20,100 tons in 2012.

The trout is the species of aquaculture production increased from freshwaters in Peru, followed distantly by the Tilapia, the Gamitana and Paiche.

Most trout production is concentrated in the highlands of Peru mainly enJunín, followed by far by Huancavelica and Cusco, Cajamarca and Ayacucho.
