The fishing season that began in early October 2014 has resulted in the Fisheries Cooperative Xaman Ha has captured to date some 70 tons of Escochín. However this amount will not exceed the proceeds achieved last year when they managed to catch 30% more.
This was announced by the leader of the fishing cooperative, José Gómez Burgos, who also mentioned that captures a similar amount, more commercial species such as grouper, snapper and bonefish are. The capture of these popular fish amounts to about 65 tons.
