A study by the Center for Business Intelligence and Markets Maximixe is expected that by the end of 2015 the Peruvian production of frozen fishery products grow 4.1% to reach 366.800 MT. This is due to higher landings of Perico, Mackerel, Bonito and hake, following a rise in sea temperature in the north.
The warm currents of El Niño foster a greater share of these species, however, such progress would represent a lower rate of increase compared to 2014 (7.2% growth) due to lower landings of mackerel and a slight decrease in the foreign demand for fishery products.
