Imarpe increases fleet of research to assess coastal

The Instituto del Mar del Peru (IMARPE) presented in Chimbote the Scientific Research Vessel BIC Luis Flores Portugal, in order to expand fisheries and oceanographic research in the landlocked country, it was reported today.

He also expressed his congratulations to Imarpe by the major achievement of putting the said vessel serving the country.

The BIC Luis Flores Portugal, presented this morning at the TASA Shipyard Chimbote, was fully renovated and repaired with an investment of five million 579.268 soles.

Thus, it adds to the scientific Imarpe fleet consists of the BIC BIC Humboldt and Olaya.

The vessel will expand the fisheries and oceanographic research in coastal areas, extend the investigation into new fisheries and around El Niño.
