Seized in Arequipa more than 17 tons of marine macroalgae

Inspectors from the General Directorate of Monitoring and Control of the Ministry of Production seized in Arequipa, a total of 17,760 kilograms of marine macroalgae (Macrocystis integrifolia) Camana province.

These algae were transported on the truck plate V3F-704 / V5T-994 owned by Arturo Gonzales Victor Candia, which did not have documentation certifying the origin of the cargo.

The intervention was performed in the unit toll Camana, located at kilometer 853 of the Panamericana Sur. Speaking to said mobile unit driver asked the relevant documentation, delivering certificates expired and no corresponding dates.

This inspection was carried out in coordination with the National Police of Peru and the Provincial Criminal Attorney Corporate Camana.

Given these facts inspectors report raised the corresponding occurrences for violating the Regulations of the General Fisheries Act by transporting aquatic resources declared closed, providing incorrect or incomplete information and transporting marine macroalgae without the certificate of origin.

It was reported that everything seized was delivered to the Regional Management Production of Arequipa.

Precisely the Ministry of Production established the hunting of marine macro algae by Ministerial Resolution No. 839-2008-PRODUCE.

On the other hand, PRODUCE inspectors seized in the city of Ica Paracas in a total of 7,407 kilograms of anchovy, which were trasladas in cold rooms without any means of preservation.
