Acuapesca certifies Concha growing fan-ASC

The company Acuapesca Group achieved certification by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) five farms where grown scallops (Argopecten purpuratus).

Según Carlos Goldin, presidente de Acuapesca, “We have many customers worldwide who have asked us to reach the ASC certification”.

“And now, our products carry the ASC label we have a strong story to tell our customers”Added the executive.

He continued “With increasing pressure on the environment and our oceans, it becomes more important to help people recognize the well managed through a robust certification program production, which is what makes ASC for us”.

Acuapesca's goal is to sell about 2,000 tons of bivalve clients in France, Italy, USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and other markets.

While Chris Ninnes, CEO of ASC, said “The Acuapesca Group should be proud of their achievements”.

“It is through their dedication and commitment to Responsible aquaculture thus make a significant contribution to protecting our oceans and care for the environment and the community”He added.

He highlighted “Demand for seafood certified as responsible continue to grow; Now we have more than 2000 products approved with ASC logo. I hope more companies to commit to responsible aquaculture, now that ASC certified oysters are available in the market”.

Farms Acuapesca Bivalves were the first to enter the ASC certification program.
