Fishermen in the region questioned the inaction of the authorities to comply with the Supreme Decree No. 006-2013 – Produce, which directs both bowling and drag boats fishing out of five miles.
Men of the Sea held a meeting in Puerto Pizarro with representatives of the Port of Foxes, Regional Production, Ombudsman, police and the local mayor, César García Miñán.
Representatives of the first two institutions agreed to join efforts to comply with the rules and provide increased surveillance at sea.
However, most of those present was unhappy with this new promise, for “would be more words that are not reflected in actions”.
“Nothing is true, now comes to cheat again to be strengthened to make the agreement (surveillance)”Said Juan Chavez Ancian.
Fishermen, if commitments are not met, evaluate the performance of a regional strike.
