The National Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) reported in a press release issued Thursday March 26 to strengthen inspections salmonid farms to verify the conditions of handling mortalities in the Aysen region.
"The Service will direct its efforts in monitoring aspects and risk behaviors and put greater emphasis on biosecurity measures critical, especially when the centers are categorized by one of our Health Programs Control"Said the National Director of Sernapesca, José Miguel Burgos.
The authority made the announcement after detecting various failures in handling mortalities, as mortality disposed feed bags (big bags), or submerged or bins without first applying the required inactivation.
To close, the authority emphasized that in these cases require rapid resolution of nonconformities, without prejudice to the legal action that should carry.
