Imarpe conduct exploratory fishing in north central Anchovies

In order to update information on the distribution of anchovy, size structure and incidence of other species, the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) authorized the Instituto del Mar del Peru (IMARPE) to conduct an exploratory Fishing the north central coast.

The Imarpe, within three working days culminated Exploratory Fisheries submitted to the Directorate General of Fisheries Development Policy and PRODUCE, the final report with the results obtained for the adoption of management measures that are necessary.

Moreover, this body must communicate to PRODUCE incidence of juvenile anchovy (Engraulis ringens) and longnose anchovy (Anchovy nasus) or bycatch, in percentages that affect the sustainability of harvested resources, recommending the immediate suspension of the exploratory fishing.
