LOTS – V multisectoral committee session was finished for recovery Titicaca

With the presence of central government authorities, Regional, Municipalities, professionals and public entities Schools, yesterday was held in the city of Puno the V Ordinary Session of the Multisectoral Committee for the Prevention and Environmental Rehabilitation of the Lake Titicaca Basin.

The regular meeting was opened by the Regional Vice President of Puno, Hector Estrada Choque, who noted that the management of the Regional Government has full security to contribute positively to the pollution of Lake Titicaca and its tributaries with the active collaboration of the central government.

"One of the fundamental orders that we have received from the population is the recovery of our Lake Titicaca and polluted watersheds, we have to take the good intention of the Central Government via the Department of Environmental Management reports on the advances that have been giving "; he said.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Environmental Management, Mariano Castro said that prevention and decontamination of the Lake Titicaca is a priority and as such is responding to specific demands of society that depend on the quality of the lake.

“Because there is the food, the chances of economic development, cultural identity and the history of Puno, for these and many other reasons we owe to this task”He said.

Regarding developments and projections involving new authorities, reported that technical groups have worked several issues related to prevention and recovery of Lake Titicaca, including the investment program, which already has specific investment projects were established.
