PRODUCE launches satellite system to monitor 1,200 boats

The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) launched the new Control Center Satellite Tracking System (Sisesat), from which highly accurate monitor fishing activity performed about 1,200 domestic vessels, in addition to foreign ships.

He stressed that the satellite software places to Peru as a leader in the region on satellite tracking.

Thus, through the Sisesat will be strengthened, inter alia, satellite surveillance of fishing vessels and detected in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy, the alleged violations, mainly regarding the removal of aquatic resources in areas reserved or prohibited.

With this system you will be controlled all vessels engaged in industrial fishing; the smaller scale dedicated to catching Anchovies, as well as the Overseas fleet dedicated to fishing for tuna and developing mining activity outside 200 miles under the RFMO.
"With this system we watched about a thousand industrial vessels and 200 vessels smaller scale, over all foreign plants dedicated to the RFMO (South Pacific Fisheries Management) and CIAT (Inter American Tropical Tuna)"He said.
