The Ministry of Production (Produce) today issued a resolution in which it set at 234.300 tonnes quota industrial catch corresponding to the first season of fishing anchovy in the south in 2014, which will run from the area of ​​Penthouse ( Arequipa region), to the southern tip of the Peruvian maritime domain.
Said catch quota suggested by the Instituto del Mar del Peru (Imarpe) is allocated for indirect human consumption, ie for the production of fishmeal and fish oil.

The season will begin on June 23, will culminate on reaching the quota or else shall not exceed 30 September 2014.

It also refers to the date of completion of the first fishing season in the south zone 2014 may be extended or reduced according to environmental biological conditions on the report of Imarpe.

The rule states that only fishing operations may make the registration and licensing ships, and mining operations should be carried out in the areas reserved for artisanal fishing and small scale.
Similarly, vessels may only make a fishing trip in an interval of 24 hours must have the satellite tracking system, among other provisions.

Those who violate the provisions of the rule will be subject to sanctions under the provisions of the General Fisheries Law, Law on Maximum Capture Vessel the Consolidated Text of the Rules of Inspections and Fisheries and Aquaculture Sanctions (RISPAC) and other applicable laws.

While DGs Policy and Fisheries Development, Fisheries Mining and Indirect Production for Human Consumption, Monitoring and Enforcement and Sanctions Produce as well as the regional offices of the coast with a fishing competition and DG and Coastguards of Navy of Peru, within the scope of their respective powers, perform the dissemination and oversight that apply and ensure compliance with the provisions of the Produce.
