Produces reproductive states ban against Hake coast of Piura

A new period of reproductive ban fishing hake species (Merluccius gayi peruanus) established the Ministry of Production in a specific area off the coast of Piura, from 00:00 on August 29 of this.

According to the preamble to the rule, the suspension of fishing was the result of Imarpe report entitled "Interim Regime Hake Fishing: Evolution of the reproductive process" 01 July to 14 August 2014.

Thus, the aforementioned scientific organization recommended the immediate suspension of mining activities in order to protect the spawning process Hake in that area as well as to safeguard the sustainability of the current stock.

In this regard, the Ministry of Production ordered the Imarpe perform the monitoring and tracking of mining activity and the main biological, population and fishery resource indicators, and must promptly inform fisheries management measures that apply.

Note that those who violate the provisions will be punished in accordance with the provisions of the Fisheries Act, its regulations, and the Consolidated Text of the Rules of Inspections and Appeals Fisheries and Aquaculture (RISPAC) and current legislation.
