The Ministry of Production (Produce) stated that in drafting the bill that his office ready to increase fishing rights, will seek the return of the fishing companies are not affected.

“For international standards, in our opinion, the fishing rights are paying (fishing companies) at this time are relatively low”He said.
Ghezzi argues that the exploitation of aquatic resources of all Peruvians, sector companies have not paid fishing rights “high enough”.
“But obviously we have to counterbalance needs more revenue by the Produce to finance monitoring, audit and research, with the economic capacity of the sector (business)”He added.
He explained that some of the resources obtained with greater rights will be allocated to scientific research, particularly the Instituto del Mar del Peru (Imarpe).
“When you Imarpe increased the budget last year but possibly require more resources to further improve the quality of their research”He added.
Increased fishing rights also serve to improve the infrastructure and operation of artisanal fishing wharves, which is to encourage fishing for direct human consumption.
In his argument in Congress also proposed the creation of a National Superintendent of Fisheries.
“In that sense, we are in the process of adjusting and tuning the optimal percentages for fishing rights. We hope to return again soon to discuss with you (Congress) and tell what stage is the bill of rights of fishing, in terms of which would finance an increase of these rights”He noted.
