Produces intended S /. 3 million for scientific studies of Fisheries and announces auditor

The Ministry of Production (Produce) transferred to the Peru Sea Institute (IMARPE) and the Technological Institute of Production (ITP) the amount of 3'012,498 soles, which will allow for new scientific and technological research.

An international -a technical audit by the FAO will be responsible for supporting scientific studies IMARPE, in order to strengthen and enhance their scientific work.
Aware that their research provides the foundation and base the country's fisheries policy -resaltó produces-, evaluation and verification performed by the team of international consultants, has the following objectives:

1. Analyze the different methodologies and procedures, as well as the primary information used by Imarpe for assessing the status of fisheries resources utilization, determining catch quotas and other management recommendations for the four major fisheries (anchovy, squid, hake and horse mackerel).

2. Assess the organizational structure and resources are there IMARPE for the proper performance of their duties and mission. Analyze and evaluate scientific production Imarpe and factors affecting scientific productivity of their staff considering their structure and function.

Distribution of resources
At Imarpe 2'757,800 soles will go to study Biological Parameters Estimation for Sustainable Fisheries Management of Marine Resources. And also to Strengthen Prevention System for Early Warning of potentially toxic species in production areas for bivalve molluscs: Paita, Chimbote, Callao and Pisco.

Meanwhile, the ITP will receive 254.698 suns out to bring related Genotipi fi cation of Hepatitis A in the Coast of Peru studies.
