CITE PRODUCE created to boost Aquaculture Fisheries

As part of the process of diversification promoted by the government throughout the country, the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) created the Center for Technological Innovation Fishing - Fishing CITE.

Thus it seeks to support the actions of technology transfer, training and technical assistance to businesses and actors of productive chains Industrial, Artisanal Fisheries and especially for the development of aquaculture.

"With this CITE-Fishing seek to increase competitiveness, innovation capacity and productive development of the participants of this productive chain and thus can generate greater value in the transformation of aquatic resources”Said Minister of Production, Piero Ghezzi.

He noted that as a result of the support that will provide the CITE Fishing, supply, productivity and quality of aquatic products both domestically and to conquer new market niches abroad will be improved.

An important objective of CITE Fishing is the joint research and improvements requiring companies with universities, research centers, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and cooperation sources, both national and international. "This articulation is essential to continue advancing," he said.

This unit technological innovation work in the Constitutional Province of Callao, it will have a Board that will consist of a representative of the Ministry of Production, who will chair a representative of the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism ( Promperú), and two representatives of the employers in the area of ​​intervention of CITE sector.
