The Plan of prevention and improvement of environmental quality Sechura Bay, in the Province of the same name, Piura Region, will begin to be implemented from March 2016, said the Ministry of Environment (Minam).

Mariano Castro, Deputy Minister of Environmental Management Minam, said the commission headed just approved the work plan 2015, where a set of measures that have to do with the formation of working groups that have launched appear .

“For purposes of addressing the issue of more participatory and multisectoral possible”, Scored Castro told Andina.

He clarified that hitherto have scheduled a series of measures that will be taken throughout 2015 and that the budget for implementation is in full development.

The deputy minister said that the plan provides for the prioritization of projects for public and private investment serving infrastructure needs and rehabilitation, linked with pollution problems originated in the mainland.

“So in prevention of all those activities that can be performed in the marine area for purposes of also reducing pollution”He said.

Castro said that through the implementation of this plan is to take advantage of natural resources harmoniously with sustainable development Sechura Bay.

He explained that Sechura Bay has a problem with the issue of rising sea level, which is affecting the social and economic activities in the area as well as the removal of aquatic resources due to the rising temperatures of the water.
