Assemblers, net menders, shellfish and other groups have formed this week in Madrid the National Association of Women in Fisheries (Anmupesca).
Its formal creation was held at the General Secretariat of Fisheries Ministry of Agriculture, Food and EnvironmentAt a meeting in which the new association has approved its statutes, as reported by the Spanish Fisheries Confederation (Cepesca).
CEPESCA, project coordinator, pointed out that Anmupesca "represents a substantial step to increase the visibility of the 5,000 women who daily perform work directly related to fishing activity step" in Spain, in addition to enhancing women's participation in consultative bodies and executives sector.
