INEI: Fishing, manufacturing and construction were the sectors hardest hit in October

Regarding the Fishing Sector, the statistical agency said that the reduction of 9.7% was explained by the reduction of the catch of species for frozen (-29.8%) and canned (-55.2%); as well as the zero catch Anchovy for being the resource spawning period in the north and center of the country.

However, it increased the catch of species for fresh consumption (28.1%) and curing (193.5%).

This result showed lower refining of precious and non-ferrous metals (-23.8%), manufacture of footwear (-49.1%), apparel (-12.5%), manufacture of knitted and crocheted (-6%), among other.

On the other hand, increased production of refined petroleum products (9.3%), Flours Canned Fish (11.1%), metal products industry (46.1%) and capital goods by 2.4%.

Meanwhile, the construction sector was affected by lower execution of road works by regional governments. In the month of analysis, the sector showed a decline of 3.2%; However, increased investment in the national government (22.2%).

Significantly, in the tenth month of this year, the physical progress of works and domestic cement consumption fell by 8.9% and 0.9%, respectively.
