The Instituto del Mar del Peru (Imarpe) being applied increasingly, measures to promote fishing dedicated to direct human consumption (CHD) and thus take advantage of new species used for food, Chipolini Andres, CEO Scientist reported Imarpe.

"But we feel we are not completing the task, the limitations that exist, so complex artisanal fisheries, and species diversity," he said.

In this regard, he said that it is resuming talks with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) allocation of a budget for a program to narrow results support the main artisanal fisheries resources by 2015.
"This involves prospecting Imarpe boats, using multifrequency equipment to facilitate making better discrimination of resources in the middle areas, and meet their abundance. Furthermore, we make further research of coastal demersal and deepwater fish to diversify Fisheries CHD "he said.

However, he said there are many issues to resolve and gave as an example the fact that artisanal fishermen refuse to draw squid that operators may use that resource.

"Another big problem is the pollution of the sea and its warming is playing more jellyfish and algae, which bring death to other resources," he said while participating in a roundtable organized by the PAD at the University of Piura and Management .
