FRANCE – Confiscate 170 endangered turtles at Charles De Gaulle Airport

Radiated Tortoises (“Radiated tortoise”) Were found in the secret compartment of a cargo of Sea Cucumbers that was in transit to Laos.
Fifteen of the animals died during the trip due to the “particulamente inadequate conditions of transport”According to the customs authorities.
The survivors were taken to a shelter located in the south.
In 2013, the French customs seized 1,450 live animals transported illegally, among which there were 336 Tortugas.
