Establish ban reproductive hake in the north

The Ministry of Production (Produce) today established a breeding ban of hake (Merluccius gayi peruanus) resource in the maritime area from the north end of the maritime domain of Peru to 04 ° 30 'South Latitude.

Accordingly, it is prohibited to remove that action from 00:00 hours on October 4, 2014 and his discharge from 14:00 pm the same day.

It also prohibits processing hake resource from 08:00 pm on October 5, 2014 and the market from 12:00 pm on October 6.

The measure, which aims to protect spawning hake is also applicable to artisanal mining activity carried out with fishing systems based on lines with hooks to be used at background level in an interleaved.

This prohibition applies equally artisanal mining activity from 00:00 hours from 04 to 10 October 2014 by the reproductive ban.

However, from 00:00 hours from 11 to 17 October 2014 of the hake resource extraction is permitted only to those who use the systems mentioned fishing as well as non-industrial transport and marketing.

Also, from 00:00 pm on October 18, 2014 onwards reproductive artisanal fishing ban will be reinstated until a new schedule is established according to the results of monitoring carried out by the Instituto del Mar del Peru (Imarpe) for extraction period.

It will allow to conduct a study Imarpe from monitoring the reproductive process in the common area of ​​artisanal mining activity hake resource.
