Close ports and creeks in coastal Arequiparegion by anomalous wave

The Port of Mollendo in Arequipa region, today ordered the closure of the port terminal and fishing coves of the area due to anomalous waves of high intensity which is recorded on the south coast, it was reported.

Captaincy staff indicated that the closure of ports and creeks became available from 07:00 hours today in order to prevent an incident between fishermen go fishing every day. It is anticipated that the closing of ports and creeks to continue for three days.

Only craft terminals 1A and 1D Tisur Matarani Port are authorized to enter and exit the terminal prior supervision.

The Port of Mollendo has jurisdiction from Punta Layer in the north to the departmental boundary between Arequipa and Moquegua in the south.

Sport craft business, craft, tourism and nautical type suspended operations this morning by order of the Captain.

Along the coast of Arequipa about 1,500 artisanal fishermen suspended their activities due to the anomalous wave that occurs on the south coast.
