Certification for export to Russia allowed sending TN 642 fish products

Since the lifting of the temporary restrictions for Peruvian exports to the Russian market, have been certified 22 consignments of fishery products equivalent to 642 tons, the National Fish Health (Sanipes) reported.

The main seafood exports to the Russian market include Pota, frozen Hake and Prawns, said Executive Director Sanipes, Diana Garcia.

"He knows the interest of exporting other products like scallops, trout and frozen Fish Meal, among others," he told Andina.

As is known, in August the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), health authorities in the Fisheries Sector of Russia lifted temporary restrictions on the entry of fishery products from 18 Peruvian establishments.

There are currently 49 registered for export to Russian companies, including 32 companies from direct human consumption (production of frozen and canned), and 17 companies Indirect Human Consumption (production of fish meal and oil).

Furthermore, another 11 plants are in the process of registration of which four have completed their observations and fill in the registration process are seven facilities are being remedied.

"Recent actions by the Russian Federation in foreign trade, allow open new opportunities to expand Peruvian exports of fishery and aquaculture products, benefiting foreign exchange earnings to the country," Garcia said.

The demand of the Russian market relates to the issue of the Health Official certificates, a requirement for entering fish products to Russia.

These certificates are issued by Sanipes, where compliance with the health requirements of fishery products in accordance with the Russian health regulations for marketing in that market is established.

It should also be noted that before the official certification must have the Technical Protocol enabling plant health Sanipes issued and enrolled in the official list of "Rosselkhoznadzor".
