Fall fishing downloads in May

In May 772 700 tonnes of fish in Peruvian ports, volume, representing a decrease of 15.6% compared to 915,900 tonnes in the same month of 2013 were landed.

For direct human consumption in May landed 97,000 tonnes of fish, compared to 110,600 tonnes in the same month of 2013.

And during the first five months of 2014 a total of 553,900 tonnes of resources for direct consumption, 8.1% more than last year (512,500 tonnes) were used.

For the preparation of frozen products last May landed 52,800 tonnes, while in the same month of 2013 had been downloaded 70,100 tons.

Meanwhile, between January and May this year, the accumulated landings for the industry was 309,000 tonnes, a 10.2% increase on the same period in 2013, when 280,300 tonnes were landed.

On the other hand, fishery resources used by the canning industry in May 2014 totaled 7,500 tonnes, compared with 5,900 tonnes in the same month last year.

Landings for direct human consumption as fresh reached last May about 34,400 tons, while in the same month last year totaled 30,400 tonnes.

Discharges of these resources accumulated in the first five months of 2014 totaled 182,800 tonnes, up 8.1% on the same period in 2013 (169,100 tonnes).
