PERU fishing with guts to report…
A cute penguin is used by restaurant owners Dudú located on the beach of La Punta, in Camana (Arequipa), to attract diners to the massive turnout for the summer season.
Following complaints by citizens through social networks, our correspondent came to the place where he confirmed the abuse committed against this flightless Seabird.
During the site visit, it was observed that the little penguin swims in a wading pool whose waters by the harsh sun is hot; also that some viewers in its attempt to want to grab the animal, throw him into the pool.
Some visitors have questioned the abuse that undergoes this defenseless animal, because its habitat is being in the Sea and cold running water as they need lots of fish, squid and other to survive.
Our correspondent also confirmed that the home is owned by the Mayor of the Town Centre, Pastor Gerardo Perea.
The group of citizens complainants requested the intervention of the authorities in charge of protecting animals.
