Produce tender makes room access fee Tuna

The Ministry of Production (Produce) announced the convocation of the fourth tender for access to the share of tropical tunas in the Peruvian Sea and Eastern Pacific Ocean.

This time, 2,423.27 cubic feet of carrying capacity for the Peruvian flag vessels are competing.

The contest will be made by public auction and the base price per cubic meter of storage capacity was set at $ 150, while the term right of access to the resource will be twelve years renewable for up to six additional years.

This time, the winners will have a larger area of ​​exploitation.

The vessels may be authorized not only make their extractive activities in waters (insolvent law in other bidding processes) national jurisdiction, but across the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

This will increase the number of months of operation and the number of trips per boat.

As recalled, Produce last May won the approval of Resolution C-14-05 which removed restrictions that had national tuna fleet to carry out their activities in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

This document is issued in Lima in the framework of the meeting of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC).

Thus Produce continues to drive extractive activities for direct human consumption and promoting the Peru have a national tuna fleet, through a transparent mechanism for allocation and caution of state interests.

It should be noted that the first award of the tender for access to the quota allocated by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission a total of 1,876.95 cubic meters of storage capacity is auctioned, the second call was abandoned and the third is auctioned 3123.05 meters Cubic storage capacity.

Companies that fees were awarded to date are Pesquera Hayduk (1,137.01 cubic meters), Fisheries Exalmar (739.94 cubic meters) and Fisheries Mahath (699.78 cubic meters).

The quota allocated to Peru amounted to 5,000 cubic meters.

Those interested in participating as bidders shall procure the bases from Friday October 31 and must submit technical and financial proposals in Castilian language or accompanied by a translation done by a sworn translator, among other recitals.

Contestants must not be coercive or unpaid debts collection with Produce.

Even this requirement shall be verified to the signing of the grant of the right of exploitation of tuna resources.

The acquisition of bases and registration of participants will take place in the Office Document Processing ministry until November 11, 2014.

Contract signing access Tuna extraction will take place in December.
