The Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation, DHN, of the Navy of Peru issued a notice which prevents the presence of light intensity surges throughout the Peruvian coast from tomorrow Saturday 8th.
According to the Special Notice Nª 61 of the dependence of the Navy, light waves begin Saturday morning on the northern coast, while in the southern and central coast begin on 9 and 10 October, respectively.
Sea conditions will normalize in the north during the afternoon of Tuesday, October 11, while in the downtown area will occur during the evening of the same day, and in the south the usual values are restored during the night of Thursday 13 October.,es
In this situation, the National Institute of Civil Defense, Indeci recommended protective measures and preparedness, especially regional and local authorities, in the departments located on the coast of Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna, guide the population in terms of specific protection measures, avoiding exposure to this phenomenon to prevent accidents and personal injuries and property damage.,es
Similarly, the Indeci advised suspend port and fishing activities and ensure boats or removing small fleets to the mainland. Furthermore, it should suspend sports and recreational activities during the period waves and avoid camps near the beach areas.
The Indeci, through the Operations Center of the National Emergency COEN, monitors the departments of the Peruvian coast in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense and the Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Navy of Peru, in order to provide information the authorities and the general population about events that arise.
