The Central Government invests and works in the execution of works for the prevention of natural phenomena like El Niño like no other administration has done before in Piura, said today the regional authority in this area, Javier Atkins.
The President of the Regional Government of Piura (GRP) quoted in this regard, prevention work carried out in Sullana, thanks to budget transfers executed by the Central Government.
“No previous government faced. Today already working and those works are executed. Before an El Niño are prepared, it was not done before”He said.
He said the cleaning of riverbeds gives security to piuranos that in a possible El Niño will be ready.
He said his administration has implemented a series of drainage works in different provinces of Piura, Paita as performed with an investment of 130 million soles, as in Talara.
Atkins today accompanied the President, Ollanta Humala Tasso, and the Minister of Agriculture, Juan Manuel Benites, during the visit of inspection by the works of the Piura river desilting and cleaning of drains in prevention of El Niño.
