PIURA – Companies no longer pollute the Bay

Industrial fishing companies continue to pollute the Bay of Paita to the full view of the authorities. This despite the claim of the population, which for several years required brake dumping of sewage into Mar.

Also, the legislator announced that Industrial Zone II of Paita found that 50% (12) of companies that are located in this area have installed underground pipes that would pour their effluents to Mar. These waters do not undergo treatment nor prior restraining traps fat and solids, as evidenced by the presence of putrid sediment along the beaches.

It was also found that 21 industrial fishing companies do not have the permission of the National Water Authority (ANA) to dump their waste into Mar.

"It is necessary to join efforts with the Provincial Municipality of Paita, the 39 industrial fishing companies operating in the area, the congressmen of the Piura parliamentary block and civil society and evaluate the feasibility of building a treatment plant," Congressman said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Environment of the commune of Paita, Rodrigo Urbina Ancajima, said convened businesses themed table that will pose as a solution to the problem of pollution, construction of a water treatment residual.
