The Spanish shipyard Construcciones Navales Paulino Freire S.A has scheduled for this May 7, the christening and launching ceremony of the oceanographic vessel with polar capacity, future BOP-171 BAP Carrasco, which was built at its facilities in Vigo, for the Peruvian Navy, MGP.
The modern ship was acquired by the MGP through a contract MGP/DIRCOMAT-515-2014, dated December 12, 2014.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense of Peru approves on January 28, 2016, the designation of case and name of the new scientific research vessel of the Peruvian Navy through Ministerial Resolution N 085-2016-DE/MGP, which once baptized and incorporated, it will go into service as BOP-171 BAP Carrasco.
It is worth specifying that the Head of State of Peru Ollanta Humala Tasso, General Commander of the naval institution, Admiral Edmundo Deville del Campo and Lieutenant Commander Josй Luis Vargas Baroni will attend the launching ceremony.
