Mexico – Destination Conapesca 73.1 mdp TO FIGHT AGAINST Illegal Fishing

The National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (Conapesca) allocated by the Program Sustainability Natural Resources, 73.1 million dollars to 18 states producing organizations to combat Illegal, as part of the actions of the first year of the present administration Federal.

He said that the central purpose of the scheme is to promote sustainable use of fisheries and aquaculture assets through the delivery of support in order to contribute to the implementation of preventive and operational inspection and surveillance activities in the sector.

The program's target population are fishermen or farmers, organizations, societies and associations formally constituted as well as universities, research centers or producers who collaborate with the Comprehensive Inspection and Monitoring Program to combat illegal fishing.

The Sagarpa noted that among the beneficiaries on bodies in Sinaloa 21.5 million pesos were granted, while in Baja California Sur resources were given 10.6 million and 10.6 million pesos in the state of Sonora.

Within the same program 66 agreements were signed with the implementation of 191 campsites, 32 Marine bases and 12 checkpoints and livelihoods of 830 technical advisors.

The agency noted that within the framework of action for inspection and surveillance of fishing and aquaculture, the target set was in the order of 50 shares, surpassing it with doing 66 of them, which meant a 132 percent compliance.
