The investments in the fisheries sector amounted to 900 million dollars in the last five years, aimed at environmental improvement and expansion of industrial plants, said the National Fisheries Society (SNP).

"The fish plants have invested both environmental issues, about 500 million dollars to mount lines of canned and frozen for 400 million dollars"Said the President of the SNP, Elena Conterno.

He said that, in this way, today have refrigerated vessels, which is key for direct human consumption.

"We also have processing plants fisheries, either canned or frozen production lines, health and all that is required to have first-rate producer"He said.

Conterno, said that the investment of $ 500 million was directed to the water treatment and emissions to meet the standards of the new regulatory framework referred to the sector.

On the other hand, warned that in the last ten years of artisanal and small-scale fleets doubled, which threatens the sustainability of hydro-biological system.
