The GLOBALG.AP certified aquaculture producers may obtain an additional label for their products. In collaboration with consumer label Friend of the Sea, GLOBALG.AP supplementary module now offers Friend of the Sea (FoS) for aquaculture.
Friend of the Sea is a non-governmental organization (NGO) nonprofit that promotes conservation of marine habitats through market incentives.
Producers who have the GLOBALG.AP certification and comply satisfactorily with the four criteria defined in complement Friend of the Sea at farm level may use a special label for consumers, which includes the tag Friend of the Sea and the number of GLOBALG.AP – GGN.
The criteria complement Friend of the Sea (FOS) cover the impact on sediments of bodies of water, the effect on the local community regarding access to areas of drinking water and Fisheries, and social criteria by requiring GRASP. The supplement may be audited during the audit GLOBALG.AP certification
Plug FoS is currently offering certified producers according Aquaculture Version 4 today wishing to benefit from the advantage of the consumer label.
