SPAIN – Fishermen and Government addressed the amount of bluefin tuna

Fishermen from various guilds and organizations of the archipelago and the regional government held a meeting today to address share Fishing Bluefin Tuna in the Islands, an issue that is not for the regional government, but due to the concern generated in this group

At present, the catch quota for the Canary Islands is 1.2% of the national quota which is about 3,000 tonnes, so the amount allowed to the Islands equivalent to 29 tonnes, while the working capital managed the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment expanded as much as possible into up to 58 tons a year in 2013 and 2014.
