Artisanal vessels, small-scale and industrial will make catching fish stocks Bonito, Mackerel Agujilla and fine, to be intended for direct human consumption, the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE).
According to scientific recommendation of IMARPE, this temporary Exploratory fishing, will only last until environmental conditions normalize.
“An increase in the availability and accessibility of certain oceanic species such as Bonito, Agujilla, mackerel and Vinciguerria Fino, which could be exploited for the extraction activity of industrial purse seine fleet, craft or smaller scale was observed”Recommends the institution.
The agency said that the vessels involved in the exploratory fishery shall operate out of the thirty nautical miles from the coastline as well as outside the prohibited areas and reserves.
Vessels must also use purse seine minimum mesh size of 38 mm (1½ inches) and shall be prohibited to remove the hake (Merluccius gayi peruanus) resource and its accompanying fauna.
