Seven people were killed after the Italian flag Ferry Norman Atlantic, covering Sunday the route between Patras (Greece) and Ancona (Italy) caught fire.
Last Monday noon (local time) could complete the rescue of 473 people who were on board the vessel.
The operation had been complicated due to rough sea and strong winds.
The Italian Military Navy said Monday it has managed to control the fire and stabilize the boat about 75 kilometers from the Italian city of Brindisi to prevent further adrift.
