Chile expressed reservation on the outer limits of the Charter of Maritime Domain

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Heraldo Munoz, said today that the Government of his country expressed reservation on the endpoint of the land boundary between the two countries, referred to in the Outer Limit Charter -Sector South Peruvian Maritime Domain promulgated by Peru.

He said today that the Charter of the Outer Limit -Sector South Peruvian Maritime Domain enacted by Peru, "exceeds the provisions of The Hague ruling" when referring to bilateral land border, but said that a press will not be submitted protest.

Speaking to the media in his country, Muñoz said his government "takes note of this act amending mapping Peru was published in 2007 and identified a" disputed area "in this area.
"It is important to state that in its judgment, the Court (International Court of Justice in The Hague) did not rule on the land border," he said.
