The Peru and Chile submitted to the UN maritime boundary map

The governments of Peru and Chile jointly presented to the United Nations (UN) map that specialists from both countries developed in compliance with the ruling of The Hague.

This map, in which the coordinates of the maritime boundary was needed, was signed by the representatives of Peru and Chile on March 25 last in Lima.

Yesterday the Chancellor of Chile, Heraldo Munoz, said Thursday that he spoke with his colleague Gonzalo Gutiérrez regard.

"I reminded him that we had agreed we would present mapping and the minutes of the bilateral commission to set the coordinates of the maritime boundary that established the Hague ruling jointly with the United Nations. He confirmed to me that this is so, "revealed Munoz. "The Chancellor confirmed that it remains true honor that agreement had jointly present maps," he added.

Peruvian Foreign Ministry sources said the agreement actually continues and presented jointly map signed on 25 March (left map), where the start of the land border does not appear.

However, they noted that this is different from the Charter of the South Outer Limit -Sector that Peru filed last Tuesday (right), which itself contains the start of the land border.
